Longevity and Nutrition Masterclasses are presented and promoted by Create Cures Foundation, with the scientific and didactic support of the nonprofit Fondazione Valter Longo Onlus
Create Cures Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the purpose of promoting creative, educational, and scientific programs aimed at ensuring healthy lives, improving the well-being of all ages, and reducing mortality due to noncommunicable diseases like cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular, autoimmune, and neurodegenerative diseases, as well as obesity.
Create Cures Foundation will use only 25% of total earnings for operational costs and the remaining part of 75% will be invested in the Foundation’s social projects to offer children, teenagers and younger and older adults the opportunity to live a long and healthy life, in particular for those who suffer from diseases and are in critical financial conditions, and to prevent and support the treatment of noncommunicable diseases like cancer, obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular, autoimmune, and neurodegenerative diseases.
In addition, the Create Cures Foundation provides scholarships for health practitioners unable to pay the full rate by offering the Multimedia Course for a free or reduced rate.
The CME accredited course "Longevity Through Fasting and Nutrition" guides the attendee through a collection of educational videos based on the science behind dietary interventions, including fasting and the clinical results shown to induce benefits for overall longevity as well as in disease progression.
The course will provide a detailed overview of how nutrition and fasting affect longevity and disease, and the key molecular mechanisms involved.
The course will be focused on fasting and nutrition and will be an in-depth follow-up of the first course, “Nutrition, Fasting, Longevity and Disease”, during which participants will analyze how nutrition and genes are modulated by nutrients and how this affects aging and lifespan in simple organisms as well as in human beings. The course will introduce the biology of aging, as well as the mechanisms for the extension of the healthy life span and the prevention of age-related diseases.
The Longevity Through Fasting and Nutrition course is founded on the evidence-based science behind dietary interventions, including fasting and its clinical applications, which have been shown to induce benefits for overall longevity, and for various disease states.
This course is dedicated to physicians, biologist, pharmacists, nutritionists, and other healthcare professionals, seeking clinical information and cases about aging, age-related diseases, nutrition, and fasting mimicking diets. AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ serve to maintain, develop, increase the knowledge, skills, and professional performances. Non-healthcare professionals enthusiastic about the topic may also register and take the course.

Sebastian Brandhorst PhD, has scientific training in cell biology, molecular biology, medicine, and biochemistry, all of which are highly relevant for his focus on biogerontology research to identify the mechanisms underlying cellular protection, as well as health- and lifespan-regulation, and their translation into clinical applications.
Dr. Brandhorst’s studies are focused on the role and application of short-term starvation, low calorie and/or low protein diets and fasting-mimicking diets on health and lifespan in pre-clinical to clinical studies.
Dr. Brandhorst is a Research Assistant at the Davis School of Gerontology - University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California.
Romina Inés Cervigni, Nutritionist Biologist, obtained a PhD from the Open University (UK) focusing her attention on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cancer cells, through basic biology research. She collaborated as a postdoctoral researcher in the field of neuroscience with the National Research Committee (CNR) in Naples and the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, Italy.
Her professional career continued at the Polytechnic University of Marche, Italy, with a Master in Nutrition and Dietetics. This allowed her to combine the preparation and knowledge in different pathological areas with tools to optimize the healing potential of nutrition.
Together with the whole team at the Valter Longo Onlus Foundation, she helps patients suffering from a wide range of diseases to integrate food therapy with standard pharmacological treatments.
Osama Hamdy, MD, PhD is a world expert and recognized thought leader in area of obesity and nutrition in diabetes. Dr. Hamdy is a senior endocrinologist and Medical Director of the Joslin Obesity Clinical Program and Director of the Inpatient Diabetes Program at Joslin Diabetes Center.
He is also Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He has a long and extensive clinical experience, and is very active in nutrition and obesity clinical research.
His lab led to many innovations and discoveries that changed how we currently manage obesity in patients with either type 2 or type 1 diabetes.Kurt Hong MD, PhD is dual board-certified in internal medicine and clinical nutrition. He is specialized in a comprehensive approach to managing patients with obesity, metabolic diseases, and other nutrition-related disorders.
Dr. Hong is committed to improving outcomes for patients through clinical and translational research. Current interests include study of macro and micro-nutrients affecting energy metabolism, impact of lifestyle intervention on healthcare utilization, nutrition support for aging, and innovative use of computational phenotyping and machine learning for management of chronic diseases.
Dr. Kurt Hong (MD, PhD, FACN) is Professor of Clinical Medicine and the Executive Director of Center for Clinical Nutrition and Applied Health Research at University of Southern California.
